FAQ
Is there a fee for consultations?
No, consultations are free.
How many weddings do you design a day?
My goal is to design one wedding a day so that I can give you the personal attention that you deserve.
Do you have a staff?
Yes, I have wonderful staff of talented designers.
Do you deliver, set-up and pick-up rental items?
Yes, I and my staff deliver and set-up your wedding flowers. I don't leave the ceremony and reception venues until everything looks as you invisioned. Delivery people don't understand how to design the room to your satisfaction so I don't use them. I pick-up any rental items you may have used.
What do you require as a down payment?
I require one third down with the signed contract to book the day.
What is the chain of life and do you follow it?
The chain of life is important for the life of flowers. First flowers should be ordered from distrubutors who carry fresh flowers and quality supplies. I order from four suppliers to ensure I recieve fresh flowers.
Bacteria shortens the life of flowers so buckets and all equipment need to be cleaned with bleach, soap and hot water. I always clean my equipment before my flowers arrive. My flowers last longer, they open well and the colors are great because I follow the chain of life.
When flowers arrive I remove them from their plastic sleeves so that they can open well. I then cut the stems, remove leaves below the water line, dip them in a solution that helps with the up-take of water then place them in warm water with flower food that feeds the flowers and kills bacteria. The flowers drink water for a couple of hours before being placed in my cooler.
A floral cooler is designed to have the correct humidity and tempature for flowers. Once my flowers drink for a couple of hours I put them in my walk-in floral cooler to harden them. I spend a whole day conditioning your flowers so that they will be perfect for your wedding day. The chain of life takes a long time so some florist don't do it. Ask any florist you are interested in if they follow the chain of life and if they have a floral cooler.
Do you have a store front or are you an independant florist?
I am an in dependant florist which means I am home based. I don't have the overhead store fronts have so I am a more cost effective choice. Store fronts need to take multiple weddings on a week-end to pay for their overhead. I am able to do one wedding a day so I can focus all my creative energy on your wedding.
